Then I heard Bill Nelson's blistering performances on Be Bop Deluxes'
"Live in the Air Age" after which "the nuge" seemed so passe. — w.e. kurn | Jan 10, 08 | Grand Funk Railroad | Debut | Into the Sun | | | Mar 3, 07 | King Crimson | In TheCourt of The Crimson King | The Court of the Crimson King | | | Jan 22, 07 | The Millennium | Begin | I Just Want To Be Your Friend | | | Oct 9, 06 | Pure Prairie League | Live ! Takin' The Stage | Two Lane Highway | | | Aug 29, 06 | Flash and the Pan | Lights in the Night | Walking in the Rain | | In the summer of 1979, one of KWFM's DJs (I cannot recall whom)
previewed this song or one of the others that would be frequently
played on the station. He prefaced the playing of sme of the songs by
explaining the artists' real names (Vander and Young), that they had a
very popular and recognizable hit in the 60s as the group the
Easybeats..."Friday on my Mind", and that they were producing the then
relatively new band ACDC. That is where the Young of the pair comes in.
I later retrieved the above information for I had forgotten it or was
not paying close enough attention at the time. What I do remember is
that I had never heard this megaphone "rap" style before or since.
Perhaps Puffy (or Diddy) will catch on and steal this music as he has
done in his career. Anyway,it rocks musicaly and lyrically. — tman | Jun 11, 06 | Spencer Davis Group | I'm A Man | I Can't Get Enough Of it | | | Jun 11, 06 | Tower of Power | East Bay Grease | Back On The Streets Again | | | Jun 4, 06 | Neil Young | After the Goldrush | all | | This album was heavily played from October 1970 into 1971. — David Glinski |
