I recall Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent being the guitar gods of that period.
Then I heard Bill Nelson's blistering performances on Be Bop Deluxes'
"Live in the Air Age" after which "the nuge" seemed so passe. — w.e. kurn

In the summer of 1979, one of KWFM's DJs (I cannot recall whom)
previewed this song or one of the others that would be frequently
played on the station. He prefaced the playing of sme of the songs by
explaining the artists' real names (Vander and Young), that they had a
very popular and recognizable hit in the 60s as the group the
Easybeats..."Friday on my Mind", and that they were producing the then
relatively new band ACDC. That is where the Young of the pair comes in.
I later retrieved the above information for I had forgotten it or was
not paying close enough attention at the time. What I do remember is
that I had never heard this megaphone "rap" style before or since.
Perhaps Puffy (or Diddy) will catch on and steal this music as he has
done in his career. Anyway,it rocks musicaly and lyrically. — tman
