"California Earthquake" |
John Gallagher |
| | I remember in 1971 here in Erie, PA, the song was played frequently on WJET. In the
June 15, 1971 survey, it went from #14 to #9. |

"Clean" vs. "weeks on info added by hand" surveys........ |
ARSA Jim |
| | Excellent question, Lee. How 'bout this? Let's keep doin' it the way we have been
(me adding them in for you), as I think, in a perfect world, the cleaner scans are
preferable to be displayed on ARSA. But going forward, there are bound to be times
when the various tribute sites are missing survey scan weeks that you do happen to
own/key in on here. Therefore, if several days go by, and I haven't yet uploaded a
scan, you can then safely conclude that I simply hadn't found a scan over there to
upload. In that case, I would then encourage you to go ahead and upload your scan -
I don't think anyone will mind that you happened to write the "weeks on" info on
there by hand. (I also sometimes did that myself!) Glad it all worked out, buddy!

"Come On Up" by Harold? |
Geno Rice |
| | I can't find the above single in the database -- its #23 on the 4 July 1970 CFRA
survey I just posted. |

"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" - Rod Stewart |
Paul Haney |
| | The correct title of the Rod Stewart song is "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" not "Do Ya
Think I'm Sexy?". |

"Gonna Fly Now" - Bill Conti |
Paul Haney |
| | There are 2 instances of "Gonna Fly Now" showing up under the artist Rocky II (Bill
Conti) in the singles database. They are on the year-end surveys for WICC and KBEQ
for 1977, so they should be listed under the original "Gonna Fly Now" by Bill Conti
from 1977. |

"I'm Stepping Out" - John Lennon |
Paul Haney |
| | Hey Jim, a quick correction for you. The 1984 John Lennon release is titled "I'm
Stepping Out" not "I'm Steppin' Out". |

|
"Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin'" - Jermaine Jackson |
Paul Haney |
| | Hey Jim, there's still a problem with this particular title in the singles database.
There are now 3 separate entries for this title, and a couple of the newer entries
are being split away from the others. I'm hitting a period where I'll be entering
this title often, so it would be nice to get them all grouped under one entry. Let
me know if there is some "trick" I can use while entering this title to get them to
all come out together. This is one of those titles that was never eligible for the
Hot 100, so it's always been of particular interest to me. |

"Watergrate" - Dickie Goodman |
Paul Haney |
| | I was looking over the Dickie Goodman single entries this morning and I believe that
his 1973 single is titled "Watergrate" not "Watergate". |

'67 peak |
K.A. Scott |
| | Intersting question Rob. I've always assumed the 67 peak represents a confluence of
two things: it was probably a time when top 40 was at its (pre-Drake format) most
alive and kicking; and it's quite possibly the year that many of the site's most
prolific data keyers were most actively listening to the radio and collecting
various charts.
But I'm just guessing, as 1967 was quite literally before my time! (Why dod you
think I key in so many 80s surveys?) Anyone else have any ideas? |

02/22/86 — CHUM-FM 104.5 FM ( Toronto, Ontario ) |
K.A. Scott |
| |
Hi all...
For this and subsequent CHUM-FM album charts, the self-titled album by Heart is
being compiled with the self-titled album by Streetheart, a completely different
band and album.
And with that nitpick noted....Happy Easter weekend, all!
Cheers,
- Kenn.

1,000 Stations |
Gary Pfeifer |
| | While maybe not as momentous as reaching the 10,000 survey mark (which is now well
on its way to 15,000!), we now have surveys from 1,000 different radio stations on
ARSA! Thank you again to all for making this possible!

10,000 |
Gary Pfeifer |
| | 10,000 Surveys!!! What an accomplishment! I didn't want just a random survey to
mark this milestone, so I cheated a little and entered a KTKT survey a bit ahead of
time for #10,000. Why KTKT? Two reasons: the very first survey ever entered on
this site back on September 12, 2003 was a KTKT survey, and Tucson is the home of
the founder/programmer/maintainer of the ARSA website - Tim Warden. My very
special BIG THANKS to Tim for having the
idea for this survey collection site, and for his dedicated time and efforts for
getting it up and running, and the continual maintenance and addition of
improvements/extra features over the years. Also a personal Thank You to
Tim for having invited me from the very beginning to contribute surveys.
Also, heartfelt Thanks for Jim for keeping the behind the scenes database
information as accurate as possible - an amazing feat! Thank You's also to Roy
Ballard, Kenn Scott, Rob Ellis, John Schwob, Mark Zacarelli, John Frank,
and everyone else who has contributed a survey to the website!
And finally, Thank You to all who just visit and enjoy the website. It's what
makes it all worthwhile.
Onwards to 15,000 now...

10,000 Surveys, Here We Come! |
Roy Ballard |
| | Wow! Only 96 more surveys to get to 10,000!
That is amazing and fantastic!
Great efforts by lots of dedicated people always make a great team. Keep it
going....
cheers! Roy |

10.000 Surveys |
John Schwob |
| | I'd like to offer my congratulations especially to Tim and Gary, but also to
everyone else who has contributed surveys. I would also like to thank everyone who
visits this site. After all, part of the motivation to spend the time and effort to
put surveys out here is so that others can enjoy them. I am proud to be the primary
contributor to the station that is still #1 in most surveys, KXOK in St. Louis. I
am still trying to find some more of them. Contributing more than 700 surveys to
this site has been a labor of love - it has brought back so many memories of my
youth. I remember going to the local department store record department each
Friday to get my survey. I remember Friday afternoons in which my favorite station
here in St. Louis (KXOK) would play the top 40 in reverse order beginning at 3:00
pm. School would let out at exactly 3:00 and I would rush to my locker, get my
transistor radio and ear phones and begin listening. Fortunately, high school
basketball and football games would begin at 7:00, so I would get to listen all the
way to #1 before the game. |

WCOP |
Boston |
1956-12-17 / WCOP ( Boston, Massachusetts ) |
Rob Ellis |
| | Jim, I see there are two songs on the WCOP charts you haven't entered yet. The
survey actually gives the label info!
Jim Love's song is on DOT 15486 and the
G Cleffs is on PIL 720
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I tried to "fix" it as best I could but to no avail.
So I deleted the survey and re-submitted it and I believe we are back to normal.

It might seem like I'm loading up the contributions yesterday, today, and possibly
tomorrow, but we leave for the Bahamas on Friday and won't be returning until
mid-April so I'm getting in as many as I have time for.

Any luck on your friend having any of his WHB 40 Star Surveys, especially the

| | Robert, I'm wondering if you have ever checked the Oldies Loon website. They have
a fairly complete KFWB chart site. You might have more accurate information
regarding their January 1958 chart listings. |
