Song notes cont
10. best female rock band to come out of Nashville (not that they
necessarily knew that at the time.) [I know what you’re saying:
“Sure you’d pick them. You’re from the 60s.” So my pick for best
MALE band? The current (as of 2022) Kings of Leon, obvi.]
26. It was to be the first Mark Lindsay solo 45 (no other Raider was
involved in its recording), until Paul Revere (don’t google his full name)
criss-crossed the country promoting it. Marvin Rainwater recorded it in ’59,
but only crickets noticed. Roy Acuff *JR* in ’67. Don Fardon had the first
hit version in ’68.
