“Little Green Apples” (5-7-6)

Song note cont:
BB#1 Released on Ranwood Records, which was Randy Wood's label originally
out of Gallatin. He moved to Hollywood in 1956. On the website "Number One
Sammy Hagar Discography" http://www.redrockerdiscography.com/ the
webmaster, who did not know who Pete Samson was, as also do not I, includes
a download of an "audition copy" of the song, which he states was recorded
in 1967, at least (almost) a full year earlier, so the timing is
conceivable. This would make it the earliest known recording by Hagar.
The webmaster did not know if it was ever released. It's also on WMAK's
"Sure Shot" list (11/6/68). There are 2 entries of an actual 45, not a promo
on youtube.com Possibly just a regional hit (likely the Greater Castalian Springs area).
